Drawing in the browser is fastest if you have a tablet with a stylus (iPad + Apple Pencil, Wacom, Surface) or a touchscreen. If you prefer your favourite pen, print the template, fill it in and take a photo — the result looks exactly like your real handwriting.

Start with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and basic punctuation. Pro adds accented letters for 30+ languages, extra punctuation, symbols and ligatures. You can add character sets later without losing any work.

Sit lowercase letters on the baseline and let them reach the x-height line; capitals and tall letters (b, d, h, k, l) should reach the cap-height line; descenders (g, j, p, q, y) go below the baseline. The faint reference letter shows the typical size.

Increase Smoothing in the toolbar — the pen will glide behind your pointer and produce smoother curves. The Calligraphy nib is also very forgiving with a mouse.

Pro lets you draw up to three versions of each character. Your font rotates through them automatically in apps that support OpenType contextual alternates (Word, Pages, Adobe apps, Figma, browsers), so repeated letters look naturally different.

Print at 100% scale (no "fit to page"), write with a dark pen or marker inside the boxes, then photograph the whole page in good, even light. Keep all four black corner markers visible. A flatbed scanner works great too.

Make sure all four corner markers are in the photo and not covered by shadows or fingers, and that the photo is sharp. Try taking the photo from directly above the page.

Right-click the .ttf file → Install (or "Install for all users"). Restart apps like Word so the font appears.

Double-click the file and click "Install Font" in Font Book.
